About Andrew O’Dea

Andrew is an Industry Recovery and Resilience Officer based on the Southern Downs. He supports primary producers in Brisbane, Bundaberg, Fraser Coast, Gold Coast, Gympie, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Logan, Moreton Bay, Noosa, Redland, Scenic Rim, Somerset, Southern Downs, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba.

Andrew is passionate about family farming and regenerative agriculture. He takes a proactive approach to managing farming enterprises in a challenging climate. With firsthand experience managing drought, floods and bushfires, he is committed to helping primary producers develop effective strategies to manage these events.

Andrew is a fifth-generation grazier from the Southern Downs. Since 2001, he has been running a family cattle operation on their home property near Warwick, as well as leased and agistment properties across Southern Queensland and Northern Territory.

His background in rural finance and commercial lending, along with his recent work with the QRIDA Drought Preparedness Team, has equipped him with a deep insight into the financial and operational aspects of agribusiness.

Andrew holds a degree in Agribusiness from the University of Queensland (Gatton).

He works as part of an Industry Recovery and Resilience Team.
